How to take care of your skin after Halloween celebration?

Healthy skin care habits are must for everyone to look beautiful. The basic CTM routine - washing face every night, keeping it moisturized and removing makeup every time is the practice to keep your skin looking fab and healthy. Once in a while, we may allow if we forget to remove eye liner and sleep with makeup on. Halloween is not that time. That is not the time for you to be lazy. No matter how much pumpkin carvings or baking has exhausted you, cannot afford to be lazy at all. You might have spent hours to put makeup matching your costume, but it should not stay longer on your face. The regular practice of CTM with right skin care products is the key to the health of your skin.

Here are all the tips you need to know for Halloween skin care:

  • Pre-preparation:

Just as prepping your skin is an important step before you apply makeup, it is important here too, more so perhaps. Before you start applying makeup for Halloween, make sure your skin is hydrated and well moisturized. Use special skin care moisturiser if you have sensitive skin. Applying makeup on dry skin will make you look real bad and will do nothing good to your skin. Moisturizing your skin will minimize or if you are lucky, just nullify drying out effect of the skin. Also, at the end of the night, after removing makeup your skin won’t feel stretchy or extra dry.

While you apply makeup, make sure to use clean or unused make up brushes, especially if you are borrowing from a friend or someone (ideally, you should not).

  • Makeup removal:

This step comes after the madness of Halloween night has ended. Removing the makeup at night is not enough as next morning could be quite rough but first things first. Most makeup are oil based and oils of skin and oils of makeup dissolve each other. Thus, use oil-based makeup remover. Apply enough remover to cover the skin and let it sit for the minute. This will give remover to make some time with the makeup and start to work on breaking it down.

Take a large cotton dab or a clean cotton face cloth, saturated with warm water and start wiping it gently on your face skin. The first step is to move it in round motions over cheeks and then take it to the nose, then forehead and then other areas. Be careful not to be too rough with your skin. No pulling or tugging. If any makeup remains, repeat.

Instead of warm water, you can also try Rose water as it is quite gentle and works out perfectly.

  • Cleanse:

Cleansing is one of the most important steps of enhancing face health. To remove the layers of Halloween make up, use a gentle cleanser to emulsify and the t-sonic pulsations to drive out impurities dirt, oil, and makeup residue from your skin so they’re not left to clog your pores later.

You can start by cleansing your chin, and move along your jaw to your ear using upward strokes, then continue with cheeks. Repeat the same to remove makeup from your forehead. To cleanse the nose, glide up and down one side, and switch to the other side.

  • Tone and moisturize:

Toning and moisturizing are as important as makeup removal and cleansing. You must run the toner over your skin after all the cleansing work is done. Rose water fits the role perfectly and it can help minimize pores and reduce the chance of any breakouts. Apply light moisturizer after removing the heavy Halloween makeup. Also, do not forget the eye cream.

Giving the skin on your face and particularly beneath your eyes, the opportunity to breathe is very important. No matter how good your skin is, it needs time to recover after a late night with unusually intense makeup, not to mention anything apart from Halloween like indulging in booze, exposure to smoke and potential lack of sleep.

  • Mask:

Once you remove the Halloween makeup, your makeup deserves a little extra attention. If you have the time and energy, then take a few extra steps and give yourself a post-Halloween mask therapy, preferably with a simple sheet mask or facial oil mask, which can go a long way toward keeping the pimples away.

If your facial skin is a bit dry, soothing facial oil will do the wonders to help restore the balance. For the people with oily skin, a clay mask will work out for you.

  • Treat:

Different people have different skin types. If you feel itchiness or irritated or you have reddish marks, avoid exfoliating for a week. It will worsen the situation. Instead, go for a gentle moisturizer or creamy cleanser. You can also apply the mask as said above to bring your skin to calm state.

A micro-current facial is one of the popular treatments for regeneration therapy this not only helps with the blood circulation, but it also stimulates collagen and elastin production. Micro-current, oxygen and micro dermabrasion treatments can be a part of a little morning-after party attention.

  • Hydrate:

Always understand that skin requires being hydrated not just by washing face with water but by quenching its thirst from the inside too. Water is one of the key components of healing your body. Keeping the body hydrated avoids pre-mature ageing, keeping you active, curbs unnecessary hunger of eating junk food, etc. No matter how much fun your Halloween night was, it probably wasn’t worth looking a couple of years older.

Properly hydrating your skin begins from the inside. Water helps to flush toxins away from your cells, aids in nutrient absorption and guards against inflammation.
