September 21st of each year is celebrated as World Alzheimer’s Day across the globe.  It is a day when organisations around the world concentrate their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and Dementia. Originally, for the entire month of September the organisations used to involve themselves in various activities that helped in raising awareness about Alzheimer’s. Later, 21st September was chosen as the World Alzheimer’s Day and is celebrated across the globe.

Alzheimer’s is the  most common form of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other intellectual abilities that are serious enough to upset your daily life. Alzheimer’s disease accounts for 60% to 80% of dementia cases. Alzheimer’s is not a part of aging; however, the greatest known risk factor is increasing age.
